Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a hilltop village in Provence where art and time coexist

#July Travel Support Fund Saint-Paul-de-Vence was a town that seemed to have stopped in the Middle Ages, just a short trip from Nice. After passing through the entrance surrounded by walls, stone alleys and stairs continued, and flowers and vines blooming in each window warmly enveloped the town. As you walked through the winding alleys, small galleries and workshops were hidden here and there, making the town itself feel like an art space. Glass crafts, ceramics, and paintings were naturally placed here and there, and you could immediately see why artists like Chagall, Picasso, and Matisse loved this place. The Fondation Magg was the representative art space of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. The architecture that blended in with nature and the sculptures displayed in the outdoor garden harmonized with the landscape and felt like another work of art. The hills overlooking the museum and the Mediterranean Sea in the distance were like a painting. From the observation deck at the end of the town, Nice and the sea were visible at a glance. The view while feeling the warm Provençal breeze was simply peaceful. Just spending time slowly with rosé wine and cheese at a small cafe under the castle walls was special enough. Saint-Paul-de-Vence was a town that you could truly feel its charm by walking slowly and staying rather than looking around quickly.
