My Relaxing Day at Sakurajima: Foot Bath, Volcano Views & Cute Cats! 🌋👣

#summervacay I had such a fantastic and relaxing day exploring Sakurajima, even managing to catch a beautiful sunset! I bought the Cute Pass (1200 yen for a day), which was incredibly convenient, covering city trams, buses, the Sakurajima ferry, and the island loop bus. I picked it up at the Tenmonkan Tourist Information Center. A staff member there even helped me download the official Kagoshima City tourism app, which saved me 500 yen per person – what a bonus! Since I was staying near Tenmonkan, I took city bus 16 or 24 to the Aquarium stop. From there, I headed up to the second floor to catch the Sakurajima ferry (a quick 15-minute ride). Once on Sakurajima, if you go left up the escalator, you can catch the western island loop bus. If you go right, you'll find the Nagisa Park Foot Bath (溶岩渚公園足湯) – and that's where I headed first! It was incredibly comfortable and relaxing, and I managed to snap some great photos of the sunset there. The most important stop on the island loop bus is the Yunohira Observatory. It offers fantastic photo opportunities, and they even have a tripod set up for your camera! The driver was kind enough to wait a few minutes for everyone to take their photos. After the bus tour, I rushed back to the foot bath. Soaking my feet felt so good and truly therapeutic – all my fatigue just melted away! There were even a few little cats sunbathing nearby, adding to the charm. It's definitely worth a visit!
