The pipe organ concert at St. Stephen's Church in Budapest is amazing!

I attended a pipe organ concert held at St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest! The concert started at 8 pm on July 11, 2025, and the venue had a solemn atmosphere. This concert was a wonderful performance by Miklós Teleki (organist and pianist), László Kovács (opera singer), and László Demeter (flute artist). As you can see in the photo, the program included masterpieces of classical music, and each piece reverberated with the beautiful sound of the cathedral's pipe organ. The concert began with W. A. Mozart's "Fantasia in F minor K 608," and I was immediately drawn in by its fantastic melody. Mozart's delicacy and power were amplified by the organ, and it was like a musical experience that transcended time. Next, A. Stradella's "Pietà Signore" was played, and the harmony of the deeply emotional singing voice and organ touched my heart. László Kovács's expressiveness as an opera singer was outstanding, and the audience was moved to tears. T. Albinoni's "Adagio" is a masterpiece that combines silence and sadness, and the addition of László Demeter's flute created an even more delicate sound. The reverberation of the cathedral further enhanced the atmosphere of this piece, making it breathtakingly beautiful. F. Liszt's "Prelude and Fugue on B-A-C-H" overwhelmed the audience with its high technical difficulty and passionate performance. Teleki's organ performance was truly spectacular. G. Verdi's "Air of King Philipp" reverberated with a majestic and dramatic melody reminiscent of a famous scene from the opera. Kovács's powerful voice and the heavy tone of the organ were in perfect harmony. J.S. Bach's "Minuet and Badinerie from Suite in B minor BWV 1067" is characterized by a light and elegant rhythm, and Demeter Laszlo's flute seemed to dance lightly. The interplay between the organ and the flute was exquisite, and it was full of joy to listen to. Finally, J.S. Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D minor BWV 565" was played as the climax, and the entire cathedral shook with the loud sound. This piece is known as a masterpiece of the pipe organ, and Teleki's dynamic performance brought out its dignity and power to the fullest. The bass resonated in my chest, and I felt as if my soul was being shaken. The highlight of the concert was the volume and vibration. The loud sound of the pipe organ reverberated off the stone walls of the cathedral, and I could feel the music with my whole body. Especially at the end of "Toccata and Fugue in D minor," waves of sound enveloped the venue, and the entire audience held their breath. This experience made me realize once again that music has the power to go beyond mere sound and bring the space itself to life. The cathedral itself was also a highlight. The gorgeous decorations, the gentle light of the candlesticks, and the historical beauty of the architecture blended with the music, making it seem as if I had traveled back in time to the Middle Ages. I think the details of the altar and columns captured in the photos convey its majesty. The stained glass and sculptures that came into view from time to time during the concert added depth to the music. This concert was a rare opportunity to fully experience the depth of classical music and the charm of the pipe organ. The harmony created by the three players Teleki, Kovács, and Demeter and the individual characteristics of each instrument were in perfect harmony, and I was truly moved by the professional performance. The performance lasted 70 minutes, but I was so engrossed that the time flew by. If you are interested in classical music or pipe organs, please try experiencing a concert like this at least once. The sound of St. Stephen's Basilica will be an unforgettable memory. If there is another event like this, I would definitely like to attend. Please enjoy the afterglow of this wonderful night with photos! Tickets can also be purchased on Trip.com, and you can choose from three categories, from close to the stage to the back. I was able to pay in Japanese yen, so it was easy and I didn't have to pay any credit card fees! #pipeorgan #St.StephensBasilica #classicalmusic #concert #Mozart #Bach #musicalnight #budapesttrip
