Majestic Takachiho Gorge!

Takachiho Gorge can be reached by driving approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from Mount Aso. While most people seem to visit as part of a day tour, we decided to drive there ourselves. The drive itself is stunning, with beautiful natural scenery and lush forests along the way. The columnar basalt rocks surrounding Takachiho Gorge, as well as the surrounding forest, are truly impressive. Taking a walk around the area is also enjoyable, and you can complete a short course in about an hour.
