This place is a Siena heart

Piazza del Campo was created to become a meeting place for citizens for various activities such as markets, games and political events. A universal symbol of Siena, with its particular shell shape, it is only one of the reasons why the historic centre of the city became a UNESCO heritage site in 1995.
