This castle is a Romanesque castle built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, and its name means 'New Swan Stone Castle'. They actually sell crystal swan decorations. The most common route is to take a train from Munich to Füssen, and then take a 10-minute walk from Füssen to the castle entrance. The scenery you see from the train on the way there is really so moving that it's overwhelming! If you know about the history of Neuschwanstein Castle, you can enjoy it more interestingly. Neuschwanstein Castle was built by Ludwig II, inspired by the opera of Richard Wagner, a musician he admired. What's interesting is that the king used royal funds to build the castle, not using the national treasury. The castle was supposed to be used as the king's palace until Ludwig II died in 1886, but after his sudden death, it was opened to the public. Currently, Neuschwanstein Castle is a popular tourist attraction, with more than 1.3 million tourists visiting every year. It is especially crowded in the summer, with more than 6,000 people visiting per day, so it is recommended to reserve tickets online in advance. However, the online tickets were sold out, so I went there in person to buy a ticket. There were still tickets left even though there was no early morning opening run, so I was barely able to enter. After getting off the bus, you have to go uphill for about 20 minutes, but there is a way to go up by bus or carriage, but the bus didn't run because there was a lot of snow and it was dangerous, and the carriage line was too long, so I decided to go up there. That was my mistake. Ah! I emphasize that you shouldn't go to the entrance wearing white pants. The reason is that the horses poop when the carriage passes, so just think of the road as a field of snow + horse poop. When we arrived at Neuschwann, we almost turned into brown pants... We had a hard time doing laundry... Unfortunately, taking pictures is prohibited inside the castle. If you look around the inside, there are rooms decorated in gold and religious murals, so it's really beautiful, and it's more fun to see it with your own eyes than to see it in pictures. In particular, I was impressed by the murals of Jesus and the 12 disciples. Neuschwanstein Castle is a place where you can feel as if you have entered a fairy tale, as it was the model for Disney Castle. If you are planning a trip to Germany, I highly recommend you visit.
