Historical exploration: Otsukawa Hakusan Park

I heard that there is a park in Handa City, Aichi Prefecture that commemorates Emperor Meiji, so I went there. Handa City is located in the center of the peninsula, but it is also close to the sea. It is said that the Emperor held a large army and navy exercise here during the Meiji period, and to commemorate the 40th year of his supervision, a tower called the "Oath Pillar" was built in Otsugawa Hakusan Park. The stone tower stood solemnly at the back of the park. The slope leading up to the park was a healing space where quiet time passed surrounded by seasonal flowers and green arches from the entrance to the park. Right now, the azaleas and wisteria trellises are in full bloom and beautiful. It seems to be a famous cherry blossom spot in spring.
