The Sun, Lake and Mountain

Day trip and adventure to Mackenzie country to Mount Cook and Lake Pukaki from Christchurch. Start the trip at 7am, enroute to a small town of Geraldine. Stop by at Fairlie Bakery for breakfast and I really like their tasty chocolate blueberry muffins. You will like their nutty bar too for snack on the way. The Mackenzie District feels like stepping into a postcard. With its turquoise lakes, golden tussocks, and snow-capped mountains, this is one of the most visually stunning regions in New Zealand. Thereafter heading out again and reached next destination which is a beautiful lake - Lake Pukaki before my final destination at Mount Cook. Lake Pukaki, a shimmering turquoise lake fed by glacial meltwater. With Mount Cook towering in the distance, it’s the perfect spot to pause and absorb the grandeur of the Southern Alps. I walked up the stunning Hooker Valley and the Tasman Glacier Track which took about 1 hours plus. The whole journey took almost 13hours thus it’s better to have 2 persons which can drive to avoid fatigue. Back Christchurch at 7:30pm and have a simple dinner as the lunch at Fairlie was pretty hugh. Food : Coffee and breakfast with takeaway chicken sandwich , muffin and nutty bar. Fruit - banana and apple.
