Fresh back from the Colorful Forest on Fengning Grassland, I feel like I've inhaled enough oxygen to rejuvenate my entire being. Originally drawn by the grassland music festival and roasted whole lamb, I was pleasantly surprised by the forest's soothing ambiance. 🌳 Here's how I spent my day in the forest: A different forest perspective: Take an off-road vehicle into the mountains! As the car ventured deeper along the scenic mountain roads, the views suddenly opened up. The cool breeze brushed against my face amidst endless greenery. The driver stopped at designated scenic spots - this bumpy mountain adventure felt far more exciting than smooth highways. After descending, the forest ranch awaited, where I willingly endured alpaca "spit attacks"! 🦙 Sharing "afternoon tea" with them was magical - they'd come trotting over at the sight of carrots. Their fuzzy heads munching away with big blinking eyes melted my heart! Perfect for photos and interactions. The ranch also had sika deer and ostriches for extra fun. Right beside the ranch was the lakeside mini-train station 🚉 The charming ride took us to Mirror Lake, its crystal-clear waters perfectly reflecting sky and trees. Tired legs found rest by the lakeside, enjoying the breeze or drinks from nearby cafes while gazing at the water - pure bliss. Evenings brought stages to the grassland. As music played, an atmosphere of freedom emerged, with strangers swaying together to the rhythm. The intangible cultural heritage Roasted Lamb Festival was an aromatic highlight! Watching whole lambs sizzle over fire, their crispy skins giving way to tender, juicy meat with special spices - truly delicious (and ceremonious). The subsequent grassland music festival dazzled, even featuring renowned artist Ulan Tuya! Colorful Forest offers breathing space - abundant trees, fresh air, comfortable temperatures, and stress-free exploration. While festivals bring lively energy and specialty foods, activities like off-roading, alpaca feeding, and birch forest walks provide peaceful moments. Perfect for weekend getaways from Beijing with friends or family to escape summer heat. After all, shouldn't everyone experience cool grassland forests in summer?
