2 Days in Aizuwakamatsu

🏡🏯 What to do: There is a castle ruins with a museum inside and observation point on the top of it. However most of information there was in Japanese. We came here for Tadami line. Be careful it does not run the full route very often in a day, and google maps doesn’t lie about its schedule. (Spoiler, the route is beautiful, and we felt like stars, because there were so many photographers waiting for us on our way, probably because of the good weather When we were waiting for our train, we had observed the town and we found spectacular views in the middle of their village, and we enjoyed this walk! 🍜 Local Cuisine Horse meat is local specialty, and I found it interesting. We tried it raw with some sort of pepper sauce in our ryokan, and it reminded me of basturma, Tatar dish. 🏠 Accommodation 1.Irorinoyado Ashina Fascinating place! Vintage interiors with lots of details that catch the eye! We were in the off-season, apparently, and were the only guests in the hotel that night, but I really hope that everything will be alright with this ryokan because I really liked it. Very caring people walk there and cook amazing food. And the building definitely has its own long history so for example there is no elevator in the building and you need to lift your luggage to the second floor, but the chief came out to help us do it. We’re very grateful to him! It’s also a little cold in the hallway in winter, but it was very warm in the room itself the heaters work well there. And the interiors of a room were also stunning and vintage!
