Renfe Spanish Large Families Fare

In Spain, Renfe provides significant fare discounts for large families: 20% for general category families and 50% for special category families. These discounts are applicable on AVE and Larga Distancia trains but do not extend to AVE International, Avant, or Cercanías routes. Single-parent families in Catalonia may also receive discounts on Rodalies services with the appropriate Generalitat certification.

Renfe Group Fare

Renfe offers group travel discounts, with an 8% discount for groups of 4 to 9 people travelling on AVE or AVE International trains. For children aged 4 to 13, Renfe provides a 40% discount on ticket prices. These children can choose seats on AVE, AVE International, and Avant trains, and can make changes or request refunds according to the ticket type, which might incur a fee. Children under four travel for free but are not permitted a reserved seat. On Cercanías trains, children under six can travel for free without a reserved seat.
