Reviews: Montserrat Half-Day Tour with Tapas and Gourmet Wines

My girlfriend and I booked a wine tour without much research. We knew we had a few days in Barcelona and knew that would be a fun, half-day experience. Little did we know we’d get some of the most breathtaking views accompanied by such an amazing guide. Yerai not only made everything feel very welcoming and genuine, but steered us in the right direction at every turn. We didn’t know about the Montserrat aspect. We fell asleep on the hour drive and woke up in the most beautiful mountain town home to a 1,000 year old church rich with history, from being partially designed by Gauti, to being half-blown up by Napoleon. Yerai explained everything extremely well and answered any and all questions. We got an hour for free time, which he suggested walking to the cross 15 minutes away (it looks far but it’s doable and soooo worth it). From there, we took a bus 30 minutes to the winery, an even older castle where the wine is made. The wine was great, accompanied by tapas. Yerai was great at explaining the process, the history, and overall the regional-aspect of Spanish wine.
Overall, if you do no other paid tours while in Barcelona, this one is well worth it. The drive gives you the chance to see the country, being on the top of the mountain gives great views, you get an excellent, entertaining, and in-depth explanation of everything, and wine that you won’t experience elsewhere.
