Taining is a small town in the Northern part of Fujian province, China. It is surrounded by beautiful bamboo forests and lakes. The most popular being the Big Golden Lake. There are plenty of sights to see around the lake, including Baxian cliff, Jinrao mountain and a beautiful natural waterfall. My personal favorite was Ganlu Rock Temple. It is a temple built into the caves of the mountain. The architecture and construction is breathtaking, and people used to live there. Our tour guide believes that the monks still live there today. The temple is situated in the mountain, so be prepared to climb a few steps. The temple and other attractions are not accessible by car, so one needs to take a guided boat tour to get there. The boat departs from the docks in Jiaojiao Fishing Village (10 minute taxi ride from Taining town), and the tour is 3 hours. The boat stops at 3 scenic spots, where you will have plenty of time to explore the sights. Taining is perfect for a leisure weekend filled with history and culture. Huangshi Temple: A Sanctuary for the Soul A short distance from Dragon King Rock lies Huangshi Temple, an ancient monastery with a rich history and thriving incense offerings. Stepping inside, a serene and peaceful energy envelops you. This was once the study place of scholar Jiang Ricai, who later passed the imperial exams. Nestled against green mountains and facing crystal-clear waters, the hotel offers picturesque views whether from your room balcony or outdoor leisure areas. Inside the rooms, the bedding is soft and comfortable with excellent soundproofing, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Stay Diary at Taining Jinjiang International Resort Hotel My stay at Taining Jinjiang International Resort Hotel exceeded all expectations. The spacious, bright room featured floor-to-ceiling windows framing stunning lake views. The bedding was plush and comfortable, while the modern bathroom had separate wet/dry areas – impressively renovated with no lingering odors. The breakfast buffet delighted with both Western pastries and local Taining specialties, particularly the unforgettable fermented bean curd. Hotel amenities were comprehensive, including a well-equipped gym and heated indoor pool. Staff provided warm, attentive service. With numerous attractions nearby – Golden Lake Scenic Area just five minutes away – the location couldn't be more convenient. This exceptional experience guarantees I'll choose this resort again for future Taining visits!

This lesser-known tourist city in Fujian is highly recommended! Although it's not well-known, this small city is worth visiting and I would come back again ‼️ That's Taining, Fujian. I really fell in love with this small city! ✅ I suggest not rushing, immerse yourself in the experience and feel the charm of Taining!
