[Hiroshima] Fusion of Zen and Art
Shinshoji Zen and Garden Museum
- In the permanent exhibition hall "Sogendo",
From a collection of over 1,500 Zen paintings and calligraphy, about 30 pieces are displayed at any one time in the various halls on the temple grounds. You can also view the Hakuin collection and experience the world of Zen.
- Kotei
Designed by sculptor Kohei Nawa, Kotei features a boat-shaped art pavilion wrapped in wood!
...Gardens and meditation
The grounds include a 17th century temple, a restored Sen no Rikyu teahouse, and a temple office designed with extensive use of pine trees, a symbol of the Seto Inland Sea. You can clear your mind while strolling through the garden and immerse yourself in the world of meditation.
- Fukuyama brand "Shinshoji Udon"
The Fukuyama brand "Shinshoji Udon" that you can taste here is exquisite. You can learn about Zen etiquette while eating, and it is a limited edition item.
