Gyokusendo cave is the longest underground cave in Okinawa and portion of it is accessible to the public from the Okinawa World park. I came to "Gyokusendo" in Okinawa World. In Okinawa World Cultural Kingdom - Gyokusen Cave, it is the second largest stalactite cave in Japan! It is very cool inside, but it may be because of walking, it still feels stuffy and hot. There are drops of water dripping from it from time to time, and the floor is slippery. You have to be very careful when walking. This is my first time planning my own trip, so I was nervous. We mainly took taxis (starting from 600 yen) to travel. Japanese taxis have automatic doors, so you just need to sit tight! ! ! I always use the GO app to call a taxi, which allows you to select the pick-up and drop-off points, so you don’t have to tell the driver where you want to go, and the taxi will come quickly. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk (take photos while walking) through the stalactite cave, enjoy the wonders of nature, and the beautiful scenery reflected by the lights on the lake below. Walk all the way from the entrance of the park into the underground world, and then take the escalator from the bottom of the park up (super thoughtful design). One of the must-visit attractions in Okinawa The "Yuquan Cave" in the Okinawa World Culture Kingdom, a stalactite cave born from the coral reef, was formed over 300,000 years. It is absolutely a beautiful museum of natural carvings. "Yuquan Cave" is 5,000 meters long and is the second longest stalactite cave in Japan. There are more than a million stalactites, asparagus and stone pillars inside! In fact, last August summer vacation wanted to come to visit, but from a friend shared the cave is more stuffy. So, this time we came to Okinawa in March and the weather was a little cool, we decided to take a trip! But I didn't expect March... the weather was cool, but there was a stuffy feeling inside the cave. It took us about 45 minutes to complete the entire trip leaving Yuquan Cave, which was a little suffocating at the end. Be aware, though, pass a long staircase (wet and slippery) before entering the hole. The cave is darker inside, the ground is slippery, there are more stairs, and it is more stuffy. Some sections of the road are also relatively narrow, making it inconvenient to push strollers. There are no midway exits in the middle, and there are no washrooms. Near the last 50 meters, the degree of baking I felt a little suffocated. So if you visit Okinawa during the summer holidays, you should consider the heat and baking factor. There is actually a lot to see inside the Okinawa World - Culture Kingdom, however we only arranged a visit to Yuquan-dong on our itinerary. Inside there is also the Venomous Snake Museum Park, local traditional performances, and crafts.
