Since it was winter, there weren't many visitors, but I happily ate 雪绵豆沙 as a snack and ate a lot at a local Shenyang restaurant. It is said among the people that when the white camel reached an old locust tree in what is now the North Market of Shenyang, it suddenly lay down and would not get up. The lamas escorting the Golden Buddha believed this place to be a holy land of Buddhism. Emperor Taizong was overjoyed when he heard this and ordered the construction of a temple there, which was the Lotus Pure Land Victory Temple. After liberation, the government continuously renovated it. It is now managed by the Buddhist Association. 'The Bell Tolls of the Imperial Temple' is also one of the eight scenic spots in Shenyang. The Imperial Temple Fair is a folk activity for praying for blessings that has lasted for more than three hundred years and is a touch of the New Year flavor for the people of Shenyang.
