However, if you want to get the 100 castle stamps of Edo Castle, remember that you should not go to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, but can get them at the visitor center/restaurant in Wadakura (Otemachi Station)/Kitanomaru Park (10-minute walk from Kudanshita Station). Don't go to the wrong place.

Kitanomaru National Garden is a great place to walk around on any day, but I won't really recommend Mondays because the Palace is closed. Is just a couple of minutes away from Kudanshita Station and is easy to find, the park used to be part of the palace during the Edo period. Now it was a beautiful pond and inside you can find the National Museum of Modern art and the museum of Science to, so also better don't go on Mondays since they don't open up to the public. I visited Kitanomaru Park near the Budokan. The red and yellow autumn leaves were very beautiful. It is part of the outer gardens of the Imperial Palace, and is well maintained. Kitanomaru Park is located in the Kudanshita area, north of central Tokyo. Unfortunately, due to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, we were not able to see the Budokan or the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation inside, but this is a view of the outer perimeter. #thingstodo Really lovely free park away from the hustle and bustle. Fairly small but has nice paths meandering through the trees, and most importantly it was absolutely deserted! Very nice to walk through if en route to the Imperial Palace East Gardens which are also free and a must visit. It’s a very popular spot for seeing Sakura Blossom espacilly in Chidorigafuchi Moat. The garden is also home to the famous Nippon Budokan which is a great place to visit. However, be prepared it will be very crowded during peak season.
