#favouriteitinerary Istana Bandar, also known as Istana Alaeddin, is a breathtaking historical palace in Jugra, Selangor, that exudes an air of mystery and grandeur. Built in 1905 by Sultan Alaeddin Sulaiman Shah, this abandoned palace was once the royal residence and administrative center of Selangor. Walking through its ornate archways, intricate wood carvings, and grand staircases, you can almost feel the echoes of its regal past. The blend of Malay, Indian, and Islamic architectural styles creates a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere, making it a dream for history buffs and photographers. When I visited the palace, I must be honest that I felt goosebumps walking through this deserted hall and poorly lit corridor. It must be once a beautiful place!

The architecture of the Palace reflects the rich cultural heritage of this land and preservation of these sites will enable tourists to appreciate the beauty of Malaysia. More information about the Palace should be researched and displayed as currently, there is not enough information about how the Palace was used in the different sections with courtyards and all. We can only guess and imagine... The place however is well taken care of and clean. Kudos to that! The guard at the gate entrance was very friendly and pleasant.
