Kaohsiung's historic Hegong Residence is worth your visit
#Kaohsiung Hotel
Sometimes when booking a hotel on a trip, it’s boring to see so many hotels that are all the same. At this time, it’s easy to be attracted by hotels with unique features, such as the one we visited in Kaohsiung called Hegongyu, ha! It sounds very historical, and feels like a medieval building from the 1930s. I clicked on it the moment I saw the name ~ It’s super interesting! By the way, his official website is also very well designed~
—⛩Name & Location
The name of the hotel is Hegongyu, and its address is 2F, No. 41, Zhongzheng 4th Road, Xinxing District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan 800. It is accessible by various transportation methods and has a very convenient geographical location.
—⛩Hotel Features
The predecessor of "HOK HOUSE" was "The Crane Palace Hotel". In the 1960s, it was one of the few hotels in Taiwan with modern facilities. The owner later immigrated to the United States and closed the business in 1996 to become a hot pot restaurant. I discovered this beautiful house by chance in 2016. We renovated the interior according to its temperament and added the word "Yu" after "He Palace". The hotel's purpose is to become a time machine, allowing travelers to stay there for a while with peace of mind, and to evoke the somewhat romantic, absurd, and vibrant past of Formosa Boulevard.
