Wandering Through Time in Stari Bar
#summervacay Stari Bar, tucked up in the hills of Bar Municipality, seriously feels like stepping into a forgotten world. It's all ancient stone walls, crumbling towers, and narrow cobbled paths with views that make you stop and just stare. The old fortress ruins are huge, way bigger than I expected, and the backdrop of mountains makes everything look even more dramatic.
There’s a small entrance fee, but it’s totally worth it. You can explore at your own pace, climb old walls, peek into churches, and imagine what life was like centuries ago. There's also this super old aqueduct still standing, which is kind of wild.
Just outside the ruins, there’s a cute little area with cafes and local shops, perfect for a cold drink or some pomegranate juice (highly recommend).
If you’re into history, ruins, or just want a chill, slightly mystical walk through Montenegro’s past, Stari Bar is a must. Not touristy, just authentic and awesome.

A Must Visit in Bar, Montenegro 🇲🇪
#summerdestinations
It is a very nice place to visit for a couple of hours and specially if you are into history. Entering the fortress has an entrance fee but is it well worth it as the place is big and picturesque.
Before you reach the fortress there will be restaurants and souvenir shops leading to the gate of the fortress. So, if you get hungry or thirsty or if you just want to buy some souvenirs then they are just conveniently located outside the fortress.
Entrance fee: 5 Euros
How to get here: there are some buses from downtown but we took a taxi for 15 euros. Since this is one of the top tourist attractions in Bar so every taxi driver knows where it is.
Tip: where comfortable shoes and apply sunscreen especially in the summer.
