Castle on a Cliff
#summervacay Castillo de Morella is like straight-up medieval movie vibes. The whole town is built on a hill, and then, this epic castle just dominates the top like it owns the place (because it basically did back in the day). You can see it from miles away, and it only gets cooler the closer you get.
The walk up is a bit of a trek, lots of stone steps and winding paths, but the views? Totally worth the leg burn. You get panoramic shots of the countryside, rooftops, and endless sky. Inside the castle, it’s all crumbling towers, ancient walls, and that "whoa, this is really old" feeling.
There’s not a ton of signage, but honestly, just wandering around and imagining knights and battles is part of the fun. The town of Morella itself is super charming too, stone houses, cute shops, and ridiculously good cheese.
If you’re into history, castles, or just pretending you’re in Game of Thrones, this place is a must.
