[2025 Ohrid Attraction] Travel Guide for Church of Saint John the Theologian (Updated Jul)

this is a very chill place where you can relax and chill with your friends and family. We came here on a walking tour from the hostel. apparently this is the place to watch sunset in Ohrid. There is nothing much to do around, but the view is stunning from this church. You can enjoy the view of the lake, and sometimes, fishing boats or kayaks. there are few ways to get there, you can either go straight there from the town, which you can walk by the lake or walking through the old town of Ohrid, or you can go there from samuel’s fortress, where you walk pass though the pine forest and enjoy the natural beauty of ohrid. there is no bars or shops next to the church, so I recommend that you can bring your own drinks and snacks to go up there and chill. it’s always open, so you can go there either morning, during the day or in the evening #passionpassport #staycation #gooutside #church

📍St. John at Kaneo Church 4Q6Q+CGJ, Kocho Racin, Ohrid 6000, North Macedonia I visited Kaneo Church, located in the seaside town of Ohrid near the border of Macedonia and Albania. The first photo was taken around 6:00 AM, while the fifth photo was taken in the afternoon. If you want to avoid backlighting, I recommend visiting early in the morning 🌅. From the center of Ohrid, you can walk along a narrow path by the sea, and eventually, the church will come into view. The view from the hilltop is a stunning spot for photography, as shown in the pictures. Be sure to climb to a position where you can capture a shot that makes the church look like it's floating on the sea ✨. By the way, there is no entrance fee, so you can enjoy this incredible view for free. It's truly a blessing!

I went to the Church of St. John Kaneo. The view and church here are the highlights of Ohrid. You have to pay to enter the church, but the square and observation deck around the church are free. The view from there is Instagram-worthy. It's about a 15-minute walk from the center of Ohrid.
