Hainan Island Five Cities Tour
Hainan Freedom Day 11 (January 2-12, 2024)
Day 1
From Beijing Daxing Airport to Haikou Meilan Airport, Ctrip's air tickets and airport pick-up services are very convenient. Stay at Hanting Hotel on Qilou Old Street in the center of Haikou. Walk to Qilou Old Street at night to see the night view and taste Hainan snacks. There are various flavors to choose from. I chose the duck urine vine coconut milk flavor, which tastes good. The night is very lively, with all kinds of small shops open for business, especially the street of small shops selling Spring Festival festive supplies. The bustling shops make people feel the strong festive atmosphere. The young people in Haikou are very friendly. The beautiful girl who asked for directions was particularly gentle and even checked Baidu Maps for us.
Day 2
Hanting Hotel is across the street from the People's Park. There are not many people there, which makes it particularly comfortable for us who like quietness. There are elderly people doing various morning exercises. You can walk through the park to the Old Street of Qilou, experience the Republican-style architecture, visit the small exhibitions and museums along the street (which are basically free), and see the iconic clock tower. Take a taxi to Yundong Library, Century Bridge, and Wanlv Park, a modern and fashionable attraction connected to each other, and a popular check-in spot for taking photos.
In the evening, there is Nanda Night Market, a very long street with snacks from all over the world. You can choose freely. Bought a handmade straw sun hat. At the end of the walk is the bar and food street, with bright lights and the night view of the Century Bridge. Take a taxi back to the hotel.
Day 3
I went to the vegetable market near the hotel to experience the local life. It was very lively. I bought some fruits, went back to the hotel to check out, and took a taxi from the high-speed rail station to Wenchang. Arrived at Wenchang Metropark Hotel at 12 o'clock, ordered special roast chicken rice and other snacks for takeout, and took a rest. In the afternoon, we went to the Coconut Garden, where there were all kinds of coconut trees, a well-designed urban park, signs introducing the plants, and a playground for children, perfect for walking the kids. In the evening, go to Wenchang Wennan Old Street (Qilou Old Street) and eat Wenchang Chicken at a popular restaurant on the street. The exterior of the Confucius Temple.
Day 4
After breakfast, take the local tourist bus No. 2 directly to Tongguling, take the bus up the mountain in the scenic area, climb the mountain for 10 minutes to enjoy the sea view, and take the bus back to the gate of the scenic area, a total of 1 and a half hours. We returned by bus and took Tour 3 to Dongjiao Coconut Grove to see the beach, sea, coconut grove, and eat authentic coconut chicken from the farm. We ordered a set meal for 2 people for 158 yuan. The hot pot has a light taste and is very healthy with vegetables. On the way back, we took a look at the Wenchang Space Launch Base. In the evening, stroll around the streets around the hotel and eat snacks from popular online restaurants.
Day 5
Take the high-speed rail to Wanning and stay at the Banshan Banhai Hotel, which is located on a small hill by the bay. The scenery is beautiful. There is a bathtub on the balcony, and the bay is below. You can drink tea, take a bath, listen to the sound of the waves, and see the internet-famous lighthouse. Take a taxi to the Shenzhou Peninsula beach to watch the sunset, play ATV, and eat seafood stalls.
Day 6
Play on Shimei Bay Beach, watch surfing at Riyue Bay, see the most beautiful white-clad church on the island, and take wedding photos at this popular photo spot, where newlyweds can take real photos, which are especially good under the sun. Have lunch on the island. We took a taxi back to the hotel and had dinner at Yashang Restaurant to watch the sunset over the lighthouse. Look at the infinity pool on the beach.
Day 7
In the morning, I took beautiful photos in the hotel yard, and drove to Sanya with friends. On the way, I visited the Big and Small Dongtian Scenic Area, which has Taoist cultural characteristics and modern photo-taking spots such as the Sky Gate by the sea, where you can take photos. Look at the evergreen pines in Nanshan, they are talented trees that will live as long as Nanshan. Take photos in the small cave. Stayed in a sea view room at Junlan Guest House Sanya Bay in Sanya. Watch the sunset on the beach in the coconut grove in the evening. Go shopping and eat fruit snacks in the evening.
Day 8
Take the bus outside the hotel to Nanshan Scenic Area, Nanshan Temple, and Guanyin on the Sea. The scenic area is very large, and you can take the scenic area tour bus and go up and down the viewing points at any time. In the afternoon, we will return to Tianya Town, a place full of romance and fireworks, to visit the ends of the earth.
Day 9
After breakfast, take a taxi to Sanya High-speed Railway Station to Danzhou Ocean Flower Island (it should be closer from the hotel to Fenghuang High-speed Railway Station). Check in to the Ou Bao Hotel on Island No. 1, take a taxi to Island No. 2 and Fruit Market in the afternoon, watch the light show of Island No. 1 Wedding Manor in the evening, and visit the night view of Outlet.
Day 10
Buy a ticket for the Island 1 round-the-island train and ride at any time from 10am to 10pm. The first circle is around the island to see the favorite attractions, have a buffet lunch at the hotel, and the second circle is to watch the sunset. On the third round, we went to the food court to have dinner and enjoy the night view of the island. Ctrip booked high-speed rail tickets and flight tickets back to Beijing, as well as online taxi pick-up from the airport to home.
Day 11
After breakfast, I took the high-speed rail from Danzhou to Haikou Meilan Airport to visit the duty-free shop. The flight took off for Beijing at 15:15 and I arrived home at 20:00.
Summary: The whole trip covers five cities: Haikou, Wenchang, Wanning, Sanya and Danzhou. The temperature in January is comfortable, with clear water and blue sky. The temperature in Sanya is even higher, so you can wear light clothes, skirts and short sleeves. The scenery along the way is picturesque, the people are simple and honest, and there are so many varieties of snacks that I feel my stomach is too small. The prices in Sanya are relatively high, similar to those in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
