Short anniversary escape to Malacca. We always love this historic town. This time we chose to stay at Casa Del Rio. Its located in the middle of the town, nearby jonker street and hardrock cafe. Best night view you can get here as the hotel is also located in front of Malacca river. The hotel facilities were excellent the staff is friendly and helpful and very efficient. The food is good! #malaka The good thing about Casa del Rio is its location. Situated right beside the most important river in the olden days, the river view is absolutely lovely. Other than that, the casa itself is quite tired and seriously need some improvement. The river, which is Malacca River is green in color and surprisingly clean (we were there right after covid restrictions were lifted) and thousands of years ago, traders from all over the world sailed along this river and Malacca became a very important trading site in South East Asia. To get the most experience of the Malacca River, it is best to just walk leisurely along the river bank, watching the tourist boats cruising and admiring the nice views of old shops during ancient Melaka. Both day and night views are awesome though and do get the river view room, on a higher floor if you are booking with Casa Del Rio. #mytripvlog #tripblazers

📍Another weekend trip to Malacca this new year!😍 This time i stayed at hotel overlooking the well known Malacca river. Malacca is a World Heritage City and most attractions & historical monuments here are well-maintained since the Dutch colonization period. With Malacca river at the centre flows through the Malacca city, this heritage city offers many attractions and historical buildings alongside the river. Some of the buildings were painted with colourful & creative murals. ✨You can enjoy day or night stroll along the river (the cost is free!) by following the brick looking path and/or pedestrian walkway alongside the Malacca river. They also provide maps at few pitstop near the bridge. Of course I prefer a night stroll with cold windy breeze😂 ✨Leisurely night stroll along the river and you may encounter the Makan Avenue, the Waronk cafe (famous eateries), the Hard Rock Cafe, Jonker Walk, the Melaka River Cruise, the Quayside Hotel and even the 5 star Casa Del Rio Melaka. Situated within the heart of Jonker Walk Malacca (about 3 mins away), lies beautiful Portuguese boutique hotel - Casa del Rio. Well deserving of its 5⭐️ accolades, CDR has well earned my respect. The service experience from start to finish was well beyond my expectations. We were first greeted with a cold Malaysian dessert upon arrival, the service staff had organized our night cruise at an affordable rate (CDR has their own jetty so you wouldn’t have queue at those long lines at Jonker for the same experience) & since it was my relative’s birthday, they even surprised our room with a free personalized birthday dessert! Each room has a Portuguese-styled patio; we opted for river-view so we could watch the river cruises flow by/ Jonker lights every night! The overall style of the hotel is Portuguese Mediterranean style. The warm Mediterranean tones composed of magenta, beige and ochre with a reddish-brown base are very stylish. Each of the 66 rooms is more than 50 square meters in size, all with private balconies and large 4-point bathrooms. The rooms are decorated with colorful mosaics, replica artworks, carved wood panels, and local landscape paintings. The lagoon view room can enjoy the hotel courtyard view, and the pool and fountain in the hotel atrium can be seen from the balcony. The river view room is mainly characterized by the quaint Malacca River view, and you can watch the life scenes of people on both sides of the river.

The entire building is filled with European retro charm, featuring red brick archways, wooden shutters, and vintage ceiling fans, as if stepping into a South Seas story from the last century✨ 🌊 My favorite is their infinity pool on the rooftop, where you can swim while enjoying the view of the Malacca River and the sunset, as if the whole city has come to a standstill. 🍰 In the afternoon, I experienced their afternoon tea, with exquisite presentation and delicious taste, not too sweet, paired with the river view, it was truly enjoyable~ 📚 In the evening, I visited their Library, which had a perfect ambiance, with wooden bookshelves, old-fashioned sofas, and dim lighting, it was super retro and great for photos! 📍 The location is extremely convenient, you can walk to tourist spots during the day, and in the evening, sit by the river with a cold drink, listening to the water and daydreaming, it's very relaxing~ 📸 Friends who want to take beautiful photos must come here! The location is great, close to the Malacca River, and just a few minutes' walk from many attractions in Malacca. It's also convenient for families traveling by car. It's like an oasis after the long drive from Singapore. 🏡 About the hotel The hotel is decorated in a Spanish style, full of enthusiasm. The room is clean and spacious, and the room we stayed in had a balcony overlooking the beautiful river view and fountain, which was very healing! The reception experience was great, with a refreshing lemon ginger drink that made us feel very relaxed. The hotel facilities are also very complete, with a swimming pool, private deck, and bicycle rental, which is especially suitable for family vacations. 🛌 Room experience The design and decoration of the room are very exquisite, and every detail is taken care of. There is a large luxury bed for a good night's sleep. There is also a large bathtub in the room, which is great for a bath. Free snacks and a large TV are also a plus, and the kids were cheering. We also especially liked the clothes rack on the balcony, which was very convenient for drying clothes in the afternoon. Although the facilities are a bit old, they are well maintained and very clean. 📍 Nearby recommendations Jonker Street is within walking distance from the hotel, and it's super convenient for shopping and eating. We especially recommend going there at night to experience the atmosphere of the night market. There are also many interesting museums nearby, such as the Naval Museum and the Customs Museum. For those who like adventure, the private deck by the river is undoubtedly a good place to go. You can rent a bicycle and ride along the river to enjoy the natural scenery of Malacca. Overall, Casa del Rio Melaka was a very satisfying choice for our trip, with attentive service and beautiful surroundings. We will definitely come back next time!

The Baba Mee and nasi goreng are highly recommended. We spent three nights in Melacca, where we discovered a charming little town that feels reminiscent of Venice. Our next three nights will be in Singapore, and from here, we had the option of taking a taxi, bus, or flight. Unfortunately, there were no flights available on January 7th. The taxi only takes you to the border, and personalized transport was only offered by a travel agency, which charged us the same amount as the luxury bus ticket. There are several bus companies that offer services from Melacca to various locations in Singapore, with prices starting at 70 MYR per person. Regardless of the company, all buses take approximately the same time, around 4 hours, depending on customs. We chose the luxury coach for 160 MYR per person because they have very spacious seats that recline comfortably. A few important notes: - Companies like 707 send your ticket via email, but you need to make a check in either online or at the counter. - All buses, regardless of the company, have similar travel times. - All buses will make one or two stops at gas stations. - It is your responsibility to complete your entry form for Singapore online. - If you haven’t completed the online form beforehand, you may be left behind and picked up by the next bus, which can delay your travel.
