Visited the [Asian Civilisation Museum]. Although I have passed by here countless times before, it is the first time to come inside. As one of the four major museums in Singapore, ACM mainly studies the history of material civilisation in China, Southeast Asia, South Asia and West Asia.
The museum has three large exhibition zones. The collections in the museum also include Chinese Taoist and Buddhist statues, various exquisite porcelain, calligraphy works and other decorative arts.

The Batik Kita Exhibition at ACM
Singapore is a coubtry is filled with diverse cultures and a vast array of heritage and many different kind of cuisine.
Be it local or foreginer it is great to understand how the different culture has affected from old to modern fashion. There is an exhibition now running called the Batik Kita at the Asian Civilised Musuem where there are many presentstion of the different colours, design and materials of Batik clothes and Batik fashion pieces from around the region.
This exhibits also showcases how Batik is made and also differently produced based on the different countries and culture. There is also a DIY Batik workshop station for those who wish to know more about Batik. This exhibition cost $12 to enter and runs only for a certain period. Do visit before it disappears.

wonderful food at Empress
Empress is a very popular place for weddings. In fact i was just there for food tasting. Some of their banquet menu items are available in their day to day menu too.
I especially like their bird's nest soup and mochi ball with black sesame ice cream. Their food is not too salty/sweet so our parents love them.
Staff was very attentive and our water was never empty.
Some might find the indoor lights a bit dim for dinner but i like it as i dont like spot lights. You can choose to sit outdoors to admire the fairy lights! No aircon but there are quite a few fans so shouldnt be too hot!

The museum is conveniently located about a 5-minute walk from Raffles Place MRT. Don’t forget to take some photos with the giant metal balls art installation on its front lawn too!

Do you know about the ice cream uncles all around Singapore? They sell ice cream on their motorbike. A moving refrigerator full of ice cream travelling around Singapore, bringing ice cream to you. Do not worry about unlicensed hawkers because all the ice cream uncles have proper licensing, a right to sell ice cream with the permission from authority.
You can choose between the numerous ice cream flavours on offer and choose to eat it with a waffle biscuit or soft white bread, sometimes the bread comes in rainbow colours too. It is such a happy sight to see them nowadays.
For me, I always see them outside The Fullerton Hotel, near Asian civilisations museum and I feel I am very lucky to have an ice cream with bread and enjoy the views at The Fullerton Hotel.
Now that the tourists are back, I always see a long queue at the ice cream uncle’s store. I am pretty sure the tourists are able to enjoy a different side of Singapore, our traditions and street food.

Visited Empress to celebrate my birthday and it turns out to be an awesome experience.
Highlights - definitely the view of the boat quay river at night. Not forgetting the food, it was great and we enjoyed them immensely.
