This mall, owned by Capital Land Singapore, shares the same name as Raffles City in Singapore, but the atmosphere and selection of brands here are truly impressive. The mall also has a big outdoor at the back with the nice view of Chongqing City Skyline. Raffles City Chongqing is an iconic architectural complex located at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers in Chongqing, China. Designed by renowned architect Moshe Safdie, it features eight skyscrapers, including a unique "horizontal skyscraper" or "sky bridge" that spans across four of the towers. This was my first time bringing my kids back to Chongqing, and our first stop was the Ascott Raffles City Chongqing! It’s already my nth time staying at an Ascott property!        This time, we booked their family-friendly room, and it was truly a pleasant surprise!     🏨 Location: Prime spot with super convenient access The hotel is directly connected to Chongqing’s landmark "Raffles City" with its iconic "Sailing" architecture. Just head downstairs, and you’re in the shopping mall! A 5-minute taxi ride from Jiefangbei or a 10-15 minute walk to Hongya Cave and the Yangtze River Cableway. The night views are stunning! 🌸 Family Room There’s a dedicated family floor with themed rooms! The entire floor is adorably decorated, and the rooms are spacious, perfect for families with kids!       We booked the Ultraman-themed room, and my child loved it! Every detail in the room was filled with Ultraman elements—play mats, a mini tent, plush toys, and children’s books neatly arranged. Even the slippers, toothbrushes, bathrobes, towels, and floor mats were Ultraman-themed.         The kitchen was fully equipped with utensils and a fridge, making it easy for families to prepare baby food or warm milk, just like at home. 🏨 Fun Facilities: There’s a dedicated kids’ play area on the first floor—perfect for letting the little ones burn off energy! 🏊🏻‍♀️ Heated Pool Includes a special children’s splash zone Gym & Yoga Room: Parents can sneak in some relaxation time while traveling with kids 🥢 Dining The breakfast spread was extensive, with both Chinese and Western options, plus Chongqing’s famous noodles! I visited on a weekday, and lucky me — it wasn’t crowded at all. Perfect for slowly exploring without the rush and noise! I didn’t go up to the Crystal Sky Bridge, but honestly, I didn’t feel like I missed much. The shopping mall itself is massive and gorgeous, with clean layouts, high ceilings, and every kind of shop you can imagine. One of my favourite stops? The LEGO Store! It was bright, colorful, and packed with all kinds of creative displays — definitely a fun stop even for adults. After shopping, I headed to the square outside the mall, and the view there is stunning. The space opens up to the riverfront, and you get a beautiful look at the skyline, the bridges, and the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers. The contrast of futuristic buildings with natural river scenery made it feel like a scene from a sci-fi movie. Peaceful, breezy, and just the right spot to pause and enjoy the surroundings. The building is centered around a complex shopping mall called 'Raffles City', and inside, there are shops, cafes, an observation deck, and a hotel, so it is not just a tourist attraction but is used as an actual living space. I visited during the day, but this building is actually the prettiest when the sun is just starting to set, when the Huangpu River and the sky are reflected on the glass windows, rather than at night. The light rises slightly above the glass surface of the building, and when I saw it from afar, it really felt like a scene from a science fiction movie. When taking pictures nearby, the angle looking up from below is the best, and if you get too close, you won't be able to see the entire structure, so I recommend taking a picture from a distance. There are surprisingly many quiet spaces inside the shopping mall, and there are also high-class cafes, so if you have time, it's okay to go up to the observatory. Of course, the observatory is paid, but the view overlooking the river and the city center is definitely worth it. The building itself is overwhelming, so I think it's a landmark that will leave a strong impression if you see it for the first time when you arrive in Chongqing.

It was very cool inside. The shopping mall was quite huge with a great variety of stalls. What attracted me the most was this retro looking stall selling sweets and titbits from childhood.

Nevertheless, I wanted to come here to visit and take photos of it because of the resemblance to Marina Bay Sands of Singapore.
