🇮🇳 Kochi, Kerala, India 🌅 Kerala Backwaters I am currently traveling in Kochi, Kerala, India. Watching the sunset at the Kerala Backwaters, which flow through the city of Kochi, was an unforgettable experience. The Kochi Backwaters are formed by seven rivers converging into the Arabian Sea. There are boat docks located 20-30 minutes by car from Kochi city center where you can board a boat to explore the backwaters. Simply search for 'Kochi Backwaters' on Google Maps to find the location. A two-hour boat ride costs $40 per boat. While you can share the boat with other passengers if there are enough people, I had to rent the boat alone as there were no other visitors at the time. Although June marks the monsoon season in Kochi, I was fortunate to have excellent weather during my visit. Riding the boat while enjoying the cool river breeze and stunning scenery made me incredibly happy. I timed my visit to coincide with sunset, allowing me to fully appreciate the breathtaking Kochi sunset. During the ride, I spotted rare birds like eagles and kingfishers. I also stopped by a small café along the way to enjoy a refreshing coconut drink. If you ever travel to Kerala in South India, make sure to take a boat ride at Kochi Backwaters and witness the sunset. 🇮🇳💚

Travel 🇮🇳 Kochi, Kerala, India 🍀 Aryass Regent I am currently traveling in Kochi, Kerala, South India. India has a large vegetarian population, so there are many famous vegetarian restaurants. During my trip to Kochi a year ago, I visited Aryass Regent, a vegetarian restaurant, and enjoyed the food so much that I decided to visit again. Aryass is a chain restaurant, so you can find a location close to where you are. This restaurant was recommended by an Indian friend from Kochi during my previous visit, and I loved it so much that I promised myself to return! I ordered a set menu featuring dosa served with coconut chutney and sambar, along with idly, Paneer 65, and lassi. On my way out, I also bought a grape juice. All of this cost just 335 rupees, which is less than 6,000 won—a very affordable meal in South India. Dosa is a South Indian-style pancake made from fermented batter. It’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, offering an addictive taste. Pairing it with sambar and coconut chutney makes it even more delicious. Tearing off a piece and dipping it into the coconut chutney is simply irresistible! Idly, a fermented rice bread, is a staple in South India. Aryass’s idly has a wonderfully fluffy texture. Whenever I visit India, I always drink lassi, a traditional fermented Indian beverage. South Indian cuisine includes many fermented foods, both in meals and drinks, which aid digestion and make you feel comfortable. Paneer 65 is one of my favorite dishes. It features soft paneer fried and coated in a flavorful sauce called 65. The portion was so generous that I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish it, but it disappeared quickly! The trip to Ladakh is one of my most memorable experiences. I visited Ladakh in autumn because I had heard that the region is especially beautiful during this season. Indeed, that proved to be true. With its golden landscapes and crisp air, late September to early October is the perfect time to witness how the region transforms as the vibrant greenery fades into shades of gold, orange, and brown. Here are the places where I experienced the beauty of autumn: Leh: When we arrived in Leh, the trees in the city were still mostly green, so we decided to head to the Hemis Monastery. Fortunately, the trees there were beginning to turn yellow. Pangong Lake and Tso Moriri: In autumn, the stark contrast of barren mountains, shimmering lakes, and golden poplar trees creates stunning views. The colors of the lakes were truly amazing. However, as there are many sewages poured into the river everyday, it has gradually became polluted as only partial of it had gone through some water treatment and nowadays, it is 1 of the most polluted river in the world. Still, people who come will bathe here but it is not that recommend as it can be dangerous with the polluted water. From my inn yesterday, it was only 5 minutes by foot but it felt far because it was cold hehe. Every time I pass by here I am always greeted with the word "Juleh" which means Hello, in Leh I am mistaken for a Malaysian while in Jammu and Jaipur it is mistaken for a Ladakh. Operational hours are around 9/10 am to 7 pm the market is already quiet and dark.
