How to get from Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong Scenic Area? Detailed guide is here! There are three modes of transportation to choose from from Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong Scenic Area: 1. Charter a car: You can rent a taxi or charter a car to go to Huanglong Scenic Area. This is the most convenient and flexible option, but may be more expensive. It takes about 3 hours from Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong Scenic Area. 2. Bus: At the Jiuzhaigou Bus Terminal in Jiuzhaigou County (near Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area), you can take a direct bus to Huanglong Scenic Area. Bus frequency may be limited, so it is recommended to know and arrange your itinerary in advance. There are usually many shuttle buses departing between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., making it convenient to enter the Huanglong Scenic Area for sightseeing. 3. Self-driving: It is more convenient for tourists who drive by themselves. Driving from Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong, National Highway 544 is in good condition. The journey is about 120 kilometers. Along the way, we pass Jiuzhaigou National Forest Park, Minjiangyuan National Wetland Park, and snow mountains. It can be called China’s Scenic Corridor! There are many viewing and parking spots along the way. On this road, you can walk and play for half a day! Things to note 1. The distance from Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong Scenic Area is relatively long, generally taking about 3 hours by car. Getting There - Airplane/Car Attractions - Waterfalls, Lake, Pond, Mountain walkway Hotels - Near the scenic spot there is a hotel Food & Restaurants - Some stalls and fast food is available outside the scenic area Shopping - Near the scenic area entrance there are some shops. We visited the Huanglong Valley Scenic area during the Chinese National Holiday. That wasn't really a smart choice. There were a lot (really a lot) of people there. Actually there are 2 possibilities to enter the park. There is the lower side entrance, which is located right next to the ticket office. If you choose this entrance, you will have to walk the wooden pathway up to the mountain top. Or, you can do as we did, we started and climbed until we were comfortable with the oxygen. Because of the high elevation of the park, you need to take an oxygen tank. I think you can buy oxygen tanks at the scenic area too. We were traveling with a 4 years old and a 6 years old. So we decided we will visit as much as we can and as long as we feel comfortable So we did not hurried, took rests several times, enjoyed the views and took pictures. You need an actual ticket to get into the park. So if you booked the ticket ahead, you need to go to the ticket office to get your actual ticket. You can't enter just with your passport. The other entrance we did not visit. From the ticket office you take a bus to cable car. When you reach the cable car, it will take you right up to the top of the mountain. You make sure you have the oxygen tank with you. Most of the people prefer to visit the park this way, so they walk down the mountain. During the Chinese National Holiday there were never ending queues at the bus stop and at the cable car entrance. Almost nobody took the lower entrance. So if you don't mind walkin your way up the mountain, you can easily enter by the entrance next to the ticket office. Day 2 Huanglong - At 6 am, wake up and have breakfast at Jisheng Hotel before heading to Huanglong Park. - At 6:30 am, leave the hotel. On the way, the car stopped due to heavy snow. We were stuck for about 15 minutes. While driving, we came across a viewpoint which is very beautiful. We came very early in the morning so there were few people. - At 8:30 am, we arrived at Huanglong Park and queued up to get our passports scanned to enter. We bought a cable car for the way up + a round-trip golf cart from the Chengdu Thai Travel Page for 1,500 baht per person. After taking the cable car, we didn’t take long to reach the golf cart transfer point. We had to exchange our passports for a golf cart ticket at the entrance before getting on the car. We had to keep our cool and not lose it because we had to use it for the return trip. After exchanging, we took the ticket to queue up for the golf cart. It didn’t take long to reach the entrance to see the view. The view was very beautiful. I felt that coming here was really worth it. - At around 10 am, we went out to take the cable car back. We had to buy a ticket for the way down ourselves. Or if anyone can walk, you can walk down 😅 It takes about 15 minutes to reach the exit - 10.20 Meet the driver and then we head to the ancient city of Songpan. This city is actually not in the plan, but the driver kindly stopped by for us since it is along the way. This city is a lovely city. If anyone has a chance to pass by, I recommend it. The beef burgers are very delicious, I highly recommend it. Walk a little from the entrance, it is on the right. The meat is on sticks, and they are sold at the market along the way. It's also delicious. - 15.00 We were sleeping on the way when the driver woke us up to take pictures with the yaks and the beautiful view along the way. The second thing was that the bathroom had a smart system like in Japan, which is very good. The shower and toilet are separated. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, very big and new. Worth it.
