I made stops in Lucerne, Lausanne, and the stunning Lavaux region, where I stayed in Grandvaux for a few days (highly recommended for vineyard views and peaceful walks). The final leg into Geneva offered sweeping views over Lake Geneva, with the Alps rising in the background — an unforgettable arrival. Geneva itself was lively and elegant, with lakeside cafés, cultural spots, and a perfect end to a slow-travel adventure. If you’re visiting Switzerland in summer, skip the car and take the train — it’s efficient, eco-friendly, and lets you really see the country. The Zurich–Geneva route is a perfect way to do it. #summervacay Just returned from a dreamy summer escape in Grandvaux, a tiny village nestled in the Lavaux vineyards above Lake Geneva. Picture-perfect views, peaceful vineyard walks, and some of the best white wine I’ve ever tasted. Days were spent hiking between Cully and Lutry, stopping for wine tastings and soaking in the stunning lake-and-mountain scenery. Evenings meant local food, golden sunsets, and quiet charm — no crowds, just beauty and stillness. This vineyard has 10,000 terraces, scattered with various wine trails, adorned with wine-growing villages, with exceptionally rich and diverse architectural heritage. Standing on the terrace of the terraces, raise a glass and look far away, the lake and mountains are full of sight, it is the most beautiful autumn scenery in Switzerland! In autumn, when the grapes are ripe, the rich aroma of grapes permeates the air. In different vineyards, tasting local wines, walking along the winding grape trails along the hills, it is really a pleasure! You can taste in Lavaux the grape variety of the region - Chasselas. This is an excellent table grape, and an ideal choice for winemaking. The white wine produced, delicate, rich, and strong mineral taste, has a strong local terroir, and it is perfect with a piece of mild cheese!
