🚂 Tasch → Zermatt – A Magical 12-Minute Train Slice of Swiss Heaven

Taking the shuttle train from Täsch to Zermatt was short, sweet, and surprisingly scenic. We left our car at the large multi-storey car park in Täsch and hopped on the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn train, which runs every 15 minutes. No need for prior booking—just get a ticket at the counter or machine and board. The journey only lasted about 12 minutes, but it felt special. As the train rolled through the valley, we were treated to views of alpine forests, mountain streams, and snow-dusted peaks in the distance. The train was modern, clean, and comfortable with big windows that made the ride feel immersive. It’s probably one of the easiest and most efficient ways to enter Zermatt, especially since no cars are allowed in the village. Once we arrived, it was just a short walk to the town center with the iconic Matterhorn peeking through in the background. Despite being just a short leg of the journey, it set the tone perfectly for the days ahead in the Alps.
