Dachao Mountain Mini Great Wall (Fuyuan Zen Temple)

Both pedestrians and vehicles enter from Picture 1. Going straight in Picture 2 leads to the Fudong Village hiking trail, which is a challenging 600-meter gravel path (on the way down, we took another 350-meter hiking trail with narrow and steep concrete steps). After that, it's about a 10-minute winding mountain road walk to reach the entrance of Fuyuan Zen Temple. The right side of Picture 2 is the parking lot entrance, where you can drive all the way to the temple gate. Inside the temple, vegetarian noodles cost 20 yuan per bowl, and there's a vending machine at the entrance selling affordable drinks. A short walk up leads to the Mini Great Wall entrance, with a restroom just a bit further up. The scenery is truly breathtaking—on one side, rolling mountains like a green fairy tale, with trains resembling caterpillars passing through tunnels and crawling across bridges. On the other side, the majestic Taihu Lake looks like an ocean from afar. We didn't return the same way but descended via another section of the wall back to the temple entrance. Climbing the Mini Great Wall during the dog days of summer left us drenched in sweat. The mountain pavilions had strong winds, making it super refreshing. Though exhausting, it's absolutely worth the visit.
