Turpan

Turpan, a severely underestimated small city in Xinjiang, was a key town on the ancient Silk Road. As early as the Neolithic Age, around six to seven thousand years ago, human activities began here. At that time, the people of Turpan mainly engaged in hunting and gathering. After entering the slave society, the mode of production gradually shifted to agriculture, and they settled down in the Turpan Basin. According to the "Records of the Grand Historian," the indigenous inhabitants of the Turpan Basin were the Gushi people. They established the Gushi (later called Cheshi) Kingdom, the Huhu Kingdom, the Little Jinbu Kingdom, the Cheshi Houcheng Kingdom, and the Cheshi Duwei Kingdom in the Turpan Basin.
