Great value for money! I went to a remote island in Okinawa on a budget!

The off-season is a great chance to travel on a budget! I visited Okinawa in early June, right in the middle of the rainy season. Many people may feel that they can't enjoy any activities because it's always raining. It's true that the probability of precipitation is high and the humidity is high, but there is less risk of typhoons than in midsummer, and there are still activities that can be enjoyed even in the rain, so this time I'd like to introduce some of the activities that were fun even during the rainy season. Of course, I kept my travel expenses as low as possible! As is common for budget travel, I used LCC (peach) from Narita to Naha. I also booked a great deal on airfare + hotel tickets on Trip.com this time. For 3 nights and 4 days, the total cost of the Narita⇆Naha flight and hotel in Naha city was an incredible 34,000 yen per person! The hotel also included breakfast, so I was able to eat Okinawan cuisine every morning, which was a real treat. I enjoyed the trip at a great price♪ I was able to go to a remote island and enjoy diving with the money I saved, so I would like to share this trip with you♪ 🏝️Activities and places visited this time🏝️ ・Scuba diving (Tokashiki Island) / ¥10,000 ・Sefa Utaki (Nanjyo) / ¥300 ・Kokusai Street (Naha) ・Tsuboya Yachimun Street (Naha) ・American Village (Chatan) (As of June 2025) ） 【From Tokyo to Naha】 ⭐︎Airline used⭐︎ Peach (Narita Airport ⇄ Naha Airport) ✈️Outbound: Narita (departs 9:30) → Naha (arrives 12:35) ✈️Return: Naha (departs 16:40) → Narita (arrives 19:30) 【From Naha Airport to the hotel】 🚝Yui Rail Naha Airport → Asahibashi Station (approx. 11 mins/¥290) 👆Since I had to travel by bus a lot, I decided to stay at a hotel near Naha Bus Terminal. 【From Naha Bus Terminal to Sefa-Utaki】 🚌Take Toyo Bus No. 338 (Platform No. 7) and get off at Sefa-Utaki (approx. 70 mins/¥960) ⚠️There are few direct buses, so you may need to transfer depending on the time of day. [From Naha Bus Terminal to American Village] 🚌Take Toyo Bus 29, 29, 120 (Platform 3 or 11) and get off at the Mihama American Village entrance (about 70 minutes/¥840) 👆Limousine buses are also in operation. Use them according to your travel plans◎ *There are occasional buses that accept credit cards, but most only accept cash or OKICA cards. Transportation electronic money such as Suica and PASMO cannot be used on buses in Okinawa Prefecture at the moment, so if you plan to use the bus, be careful⚠️ and bring plenty of cash. [From Naha Port to Tokashiki Island] 🚢Ferry Tokashiki (approx. 70 mins one way/¥1,690 for adults) 🛥️Marine Liner Tokashiki (approx. 40 mins one way/¥2,530 for adults) 👆I used Marine Liner Tokashiki on the way there and Ferry Tokashiki on the way back, but if you are using the same type of ship for a round trip, you can get a slightly better deal with a round trip ticket. Also, as a warning, Marine Liner Tokashiki is quite shaky!! If you are prone to seasickness, we recommend the ferry! (Example: If you use Ferry Tokashiki both ways...round trip ticket ¥3,210) 👆The prices, departure times, and travel times vary, so it is recommended that you choose the ship you will use according to your travel plans.
