We reached Bukchon Hanok Village around 11am and it was already pretty crowded 😅 Mostly tourists snapping photos, some even dressed in traditional hanbok – super cute for pictures! The place itself is really beautiful though, with those traditional houses and peaceful streets. The vibe is really nice, calm and charming despite the crowd. Definitely a great spot for photos! After binge watching countless Korean dramas on Netflix I finally had a chance to visit Seoul over the summer. It’s the make developed and advanced city I’ve ever visited and I was blown away by the efficiency and accessibility of everything across the city. A stunning contrast of old and new with historical palaces surrounded by burgeoning skylines that help to represent South Korea’s phenomenal development over the last few decades The national palace museums were a highlight and the sheer scale of it has to be seen to be believed. The national museum of Korean history is across the road and gives you a more up to date summary of the country. We stayed in Itaewon which is the nightlife and food hub of the city, frequented by tourists and students alike. Gangnam was great for shopping and getting a taste of the more luxurious side of life in Seoul. If you’re there for more than 48 hours a trip to the demilitarised zone at the border of North Korea is a must do! However you can only go on authorised trips so book and plan in advance! We ordered the famous tiramisu cake and iced Americano at Twosome Place. The soft and sweet tiramisu cake paired perfectly with the iced Americano. Since the cafe is situated in Geumjeong Fortress, it's surrounded by mountains and vibrant green trees, making it incredibly relaxing to enjoy coffee while taking in the view. Personally, I usually prefer ocean view cafes, but after experiencing the mountain view, I was completely captivated by its charm. The abundance of trees around the area adds a refreshing scent, and visiting during sunset allowed us to enjoy the beautiful sunset, making it even more healing. It's Namsan Wang Donkatsu located on the first basement floor of Incheon International Airport Terminal 1. During this vacation, while traveling in Korea, I ate at Namsan Wang Donkatsu on the first basement floor of Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 both when I entered and left the country. When I arrived in Korea, I had more than an hour left before my bus, and when I left Korea, I had more than two hours left before my flight, so I ate at the food court on the first basement floor of Terminal 1. Namsan Wang Donkatsu was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, and as the name Wang Donkatsu suggests, the portion was huge, so I was able to eat until I was full. This food court has a variety of options, including not only Donkatsu but also Korean and Chinese food. My group ordered Sundubu Jjigae, which was spicy and delicious. It is a cafe located in the Masan Export Free Zone, and when I visited on a weekday afternoon, there were few people and it was so nice because it was quiet! City Bay is also famous for its various bakeries, so I ordered salt bread and black sesame latte. There was also a microwave so that I could warm up the salt bread and eat it. The black sesame latte I ordered was creamy and rich, so it was delicious. In particular, the rice crackers on top of the latte made it even richer. I wanted to work on the computer on the 3rd floor, and the Wi-Fi was really fast, and there was enough space to charge my phone and laptop.
