🏞️ Tranquil Retreat in Nature – Shogetsu Grand Hotel, Jozankei

We stayed at Shogetsu Grand Hotel in Jozankei and it was exactly the kind of peaceful nature escape we needed. Our tatami-style room was spacious, clean, and gave us a calming view of the river and surrounding mountains—absolutely stunning to wake up to. The onsen facilities were a highlight of the trip. The open-air bath was simply magical—soaking in warm, healing waters while listening to the river and gazing at the trees was the definition of relaxation. The indoor baths were just as soothing, and everything was spotless and well taken care of. We had opted for the half-board stay, which included a kaiseki dinner—and it was truly impressive. Course after course was beautifully presented, highlighting seasonal ingredients and traditional Japanese techniques. It was not just a meal, but an experience that brought the essence of Japanese hospitality to the table. The lobby area was another lovely part of the stay—cozy and inviting, with large windows and a tranquil ambiance. They even offer free drinks for guests, including a unique honey drink buffet featuring honey from different local producers—such a thoughtful and refreshing touch. Staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Their hospitality made everything feel even more special.
