Come to Qiqihar's Zhalong to see the red-crowned cranes, and here's how to enjoy it without any pitfalls

When visiting Qiqihar, the must-go destination is definitely Zhalong Nature Reserve. Not only can you photograph red-crowned cranes, but you can also get up close with these national first-class protected animals, truly experiencing the harmony between humans and nature. Take advantage of the pre-May Day period to check in at Zhalong - from ticket purchase to public transportation, everything is smooth and hassle-free. 🎫 Tickets can be purchased in advance on major travel platforms. After April 16th, peak season prices apply: adult ticket 65 yuan, shuttle bus 10 yuan, totaling 75 yuan. No need to buy the small train ticket! At the scenic area, simply scan the QR code to enter - no need to exchange for paper tickets. The shuttle bus doesn't check tickets. If you stay at Junyue Hotel, the front desk offers special scenic area package prices - a great deal at 69 yuan including shuttle bus fare (possibly because we didn't visit during peak season)! 🚌 To get from downtown to Zhalong, take Bus 306. It's recommended to board at the starting station to ensure seating. Note: the boarding point is 20 meters south of the RT-Mart bus stop - locate "Tiancheng Group" to see the sign. Currently there are 22 daily departures (schedule in Figure 2), with buses every 20-30 minutes from 6:20 AM to 5:00 PM. After boarding, the bus will stop shortly for the conductor to collect the 20 yuan round-trip fare - keep your ticket stub for the return trip. The last return bus also departs at 5:00 PM, with half-hour intervals. Allow about 30 minutes to walk and ride from the release area back to the scenic area exit - don't miss the last bus! From the starting station to Zhalong terminal, there are over ten stops along the 50-minute ride. At the terminal, the yellow building nearby is the ticket checkpoint. Note: the shuttle bus doesn't go to the release area - you'll need to walk about 2 km from the drop-off point. Follow the direction of the large white sphere (no signs visible). After passing the white sphere and a row of small white pavilions, you'll reach the release area in about 20 minutes. ⌚ There are four daily release sessions: 9:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 3:30 PM. The keepers use red flags to guide the cranes in a brief flight circle lasting just seconds. Then they herd the cranes near the railings - seeing dozens of cranes together is spectacular! This is the perfect time for photos with the cranes. 📷 I visited in the morning with sunny weather.
