The island’s iconic Mount Etna dominated the skyline, its snow-capped peak visible from many places. While I didn’t visit it personally, locals spoke of its majesty and the unique volcanic soil that gives Sicilian produce its exceptional flavor. The food was another highlight of my trip. I fell in love with pasta alla Norma, the perfect balance of tomato, eggplant, and salty ricotta salata. Sicilian pizza, with its thick crust and bold toppings, was equally unforgettable. For dessert, a fresh cannoli from a local pastry shop was the ultimate treat. Sicily felt safe and inviting throughout my stay.
