📍MAN - PISA - 10th June

#daytrip Pisa seems to be quite popular at the moment, so what I will say .. Photos don’t do it justice .. the Leaning Tower is one of those sights you just have to see in real life ✈️ Flew from Manchester to Pisa early Tuesday morning, back by early Wednesday (in time for work 🫣😴) 🛂 Landed around 9am, breezed through border control. 💒 We stayed at “Casa per Ferie Religiosa Figlie di Nazareth” .. peaceful, clean with super comfy beds (As it’s a functioning convent, the atmosphere is naturally quiet and respectful.) 🚶♀️By 10am we were out exploring of course, the Leaning Tower is the main draw, but Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles) has much more to offer .. ⛪️Duomo di Pisa (Cathedral) ⛪️Battistero di San Giovanni (Baptistery) ⛪️Camposanto Monumentale (Monumental Cemetery) 🎟️ We had Tower tickets for 13:00 .. would definitely recommend booking in advance; it gets busy fast. 🪜There are 251 steps to the top, and you can genuinely feel the tilt as you climb .. Stunning view & once we got back down, our legs felt a bit wobbly for a while 🫨😅 🍧 Wandered around the area and grabbed a gelato from Rufus .. delicious. 🍕 Lunch we grabbed a pizza by the Tower, but prices didn’t seem to vary much whether you were close to the Tower or further out. 🎨 We crossed the bridge to the other side of the city – great mix of clothing shops and art spots. ☀️ Weather was amazing, a couple of tips .. shoulders need to be covered inside the cathedrals .. There’s not much shade, so water bottles are a must. 🩵 I’d 100% recommend Pisa if it’s your first trip to Italy, if you’re after a quick getaway, or if you’re chasing one of the world’s iconic landmarks. 🩵Honestly, we had more than enough time to see everything we wanted in Pisa and loved every minute. If you have extra time, Florence is only an hour away by train .. Next stop: Rome 🇮🇹
