Both the South Island and the North Island had their own distinct colors, and no matter where you went, nature was awaiting you. In the South Island, the scenery created by Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps in Queenstown was an unforgettable scene. The view from the Skyline Observatory and the thrill of activities such as the luge and bungee jumping added to the vitality of the trip. In Mount Cook, I walked the Hooker Valley Track and encountered snow-capped mountains and glacial lakes before my eyes, and in Lake Tekapo, the sky filled with stars, worthy of being one of the world's three major starlight reserves, was the most impressive. In the North Island, the hot springs and Maori traditional performances in Rotorua were interesting, and the Hobbit Village in Matamata was special because you could experience the scenery from the movie. Auckland felt like the city and nature coexisted, so it was great to enjoy leisurely walks and cafe tours. The biggest charm of traveling to New Zealand was that you could enjoy it enough even if you weren't busy.
