Museum of the City of New York

I discovered the Museum of the City of New York by chance while walking near Central Park. I saw it on Google Maps and decided to check it out. When I got there, it was a Tuesday, and I noticed a sign saying that admission is free every Wednesday. So, I returned the next day and yes, it was completely free to enter. The museum has several floors, including a basement. In the basement, they show a 30-minute movie about the history of New York City. It includes photos, videos, and a narration that explains how the city developed. That was honestly my favorite part of the visit. The other floors have different galleries with sculptures, paintings, and historical exhibits. Some rooms are dark with short clips showing how New York has appeared in movies and TV shows. There’s a lot to see, and it gives a strong sense of how rich the city’s history is. There's also a small café on the second floor where you can buy coffee, drinks, and snacks. I’m not sure if they allow outside drinks, so it’s best to check the official website if you’re planning to bring anything. Overall, I really liked this museum. If you're like me and don't enjoy reading long texts, you'll still enjoy it because there are many visual displays that are easy to understand. If you're a fan of history, you’ll find it even more rewarding. Learning about New York’s 400-year history and seeing how it grew into the city it is today was truly impressive. I highly recommend visiting especially on a Wednesday if you're on a budget.
