Malta, a Small Gem in the Mediterranean

Though Malta is not large, it left a deep impression on me throughout my journey. The island seamlessly blends the essence of Europe, the Mediterranean, and Arabia, creating a warm yet unfamiliar feeling no matter which alley you wander through. Both the sea and the cities were modest, but this simplicity made them all the more special. Valletta was the starting point and the heart of my Malta trip. Its narrow, elongated streets were lined with golden limestone buildings, and small balconies and staircases created picturesque scenes. The view of the Grand Harbor and the blue Mediterranean Sea from the Upper Barrakka Gardens was serene and beautiful, like a painting. The Blue Lagoon on Comino Island was an absolute must-visit. Swimming in the crystal-clear, emerald waters, so transparent you could see the bottom, made me realize this was truly a Mediterranean paradise. Floating on the water, gazing at the sky and sunlight, was the most peaceful moment of the trip. St. Julian's and Sliema were a bit more lively. The cafes and restaurants lining the promenade, along with the sunset-drenched seaside views, washed away the fatigue of the day. An evening accompanied by local wine was the perfect way to end the day. Malta is not a destination filled with countless attractions; rather, the act of simply being there becomes the journey. It’s a place that gifts you with slow and leisurely moments, making it the most missed destination even after leaving.
