Mont Saint-Michel, the setting for Disney's Rapunzel A small island village in the middle of the sea with high and low tide Have you ever heard of Mont Saint-Michel? Actually, it's a monastery!! There's a monastery on the top of the island It's a small, sacred island with a few shops and restaurants below I was lucky enough to see Mont Saint-Michel floating on the water because the evening I went was high tide! Oh, by the way, skirts and shoes are not recommended when you go.. I took 20,000 steps that day,, And the top of the island? Go up the stairs..
