A beautiful guesthouse between the volcano and the sea

villa Amonita, Lanzarote One of the joys of traveling is experiencing unique "homes" in different places, homes I could likely never own. I've always enjoyed staying by the sea when visiting islands, but this time I chose a guesthouse by the volcano. The owners are a Czech architect couple, and the decorative posters in their home showcase their photography📸 from their travels around the world. The guesthouse is located in the small town of Tiagua⛰️ in central Lanzarote, within easy driving distance of all the attractions. Feel free to pick and enjoy the fruits and vegetables growing in the yard. On our first day, we were surprised to find a little hedgehog already enjoying the beautiful pool. Not far from the house is a small supermarket run by locals. On evenings when we didn't want to eat out, we'd walk over and, despite the language barrier, manage to buy a pack of freshly sliced Iberico ham. Back at the guesthouse, we'd enjoy it with melon and the white wine gifted by the owners, watching the summer evening breeze carry the sunset🌄 down behind the volcano.
