Second highest moto pass in the world!

At 5,359 meters, it's the second-highest motorable pass in the world, and you can feel the altitude as soon as you step out of the vehicle. When we visited in late April, the entire area was blanketed in snow - absolutely stunning, but freezing cold even with multiple layers. The road up is an adventure in itself - beautiful but rough in sections, with steep drops and sharp turns. We came by car (not motorcycle, which many daredevils attempt), and even then it required careful driving. The views along the way are incredible, with snow-capped peaks in every direction. This was our first stop during a four-day Nubra Valley loop, and what an introduction to Ladakh's landscapes it was! The army canteen at the top serves surprisingly good hot chai - a lifesaver in the cold. Don't expect to stay long at the summit though - between the thin air and freezing temperatures, most visitors just snap photos by the famous signboard before heading down. An unforgettable experience that really makes you appreciate both the beauty and harshness of the Himalayas. Just take it slow, dress warmly, and enjoy those breathtaking mountain views.
