Fruit Valley - Guosai Scenic Area

On the way from Yining to Sayram Lake, Fruit Valley is so captivating that one lingers on without haste, and by the time the journey ends, it's already afternoon upon arrival at Sayram Lake. I walked back and forth across the Fruit Valley Bridge four times, taking in the view of the valley from every angle. The real prize was venturing into this little ravine, where I bought fresh lamb from the enthusiastic Xinjiang locals who grilled six skewers for us and also offered a cup of authentic milk tea. The taste is so memorable that it makes my mouth water every time I think of it. Looking out at the ridge in the distance, with its lush green grasslands backed by majestic snow-capped mountains, one feels tiny, frail, and solemn standing there.
