An emotional night train from Sydney to Melbourne‼️
Sydney and Melbourne each have their own charms, so it's a good idea to travel to both. Since Australia is such a large country, the distance between Sydney and Melbourne is 876km.
There is an overnight train from Sydney to Melbourne.
The overnight train route is from Sydney Central Station to Melbourne Southern Cross Station. The travel time is 10 hours and 48 minutes.
The train schedule is Sydney-Melbourne 07:40, 20:42 and Melbourne-Sydney 08:30, 19:50.
The train operating company is Transport NSW.
There are three types of train seats: Economy, First class, and Sleeper Cabin.
Economy is general class, with 10kg of carry-on luggage and 1 piece of 20kg checked luggage.
First class is business class, with 10kg of carry-on luggage and 1 piece of 20kg checked luggage. Sleeper cabins have beds and are private rooms with washbasins.
Reservations cannot be made online, but can only be made by phone. They sell out quickly, so it takes at least 2-3 weeks. They say you have to make a reservation in advance
Also, the price is almost twice as expensive as the economy class, so the cost-effectiveness is not that good compared to the airplane
The train seats were bigger than I thought, and the tables were big, which was nice
There are no separate outlets, so I recommend charging your spare battery and coming here. Also, the data doesn't work well, so it's better to download videos and come here
There's a separate store inside the train, and they sell a variety of things, such as breakfast, snacks, dinner, and drinks
The sunrise and sunset seen from the train were really so pretty
When you board the train, the lights are turned off around 11 PM, and they are turned on around the time you arrive in Sydney
You can save on accommodation costs, and it was a good memory because you can see the beautiful Australian sunrise and sunset while riding the train
