The Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang – A Historical Marvel

The Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang (Terracotta Army) is a must-visit destination when traveling to Xi'an. The grandeur and intricacy of the terracotta soldiers make it one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites and a destination that attracts tourists from all over the world. Upon arrival, the first impression is the vastness of the museum and the systematic display. The main highlight is “Pit 1,” a large pit filled with life-sized statues of soldiers and horses, each with unique faces, postures, and details. Additionally, there are “Pit 2” and “Pit 3,” which represent different military units, providing a deeper understanding of ancient military strategies. What makes this place special is the story behind it. The mausoleum was built under the command of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China, to serve as an army to protect him in the afterlife. It was accidentally discovered in 1974 by local farmers. For the visit, it is recommended to allocate about half a day or a full day to explore all sections thoroughly. For more detailed information, hiring a local guide to explain the historical background is advisable. Overall, the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang is an astonishing and mysterious place, well worth the visit!

Terracotta & Temples

It's sometimes quite difficult to judge an experience in big Chinese cities as, 1. they're so huge, and 2. they're so huge. Xian is no different. It's a huge city. But … it does have some unique characteristics that set it apart from other Chinese monster cities. The "drum tower" and "city walls" that are found in many Chinese centers seem more organic, part of the city, than other places. The city revolves around these monuments and they don't seem so distant and untouchable. Although one could say the same for a city like Nanjing, Xian's relics seem more alive and better maintained. And, furthermore, temples like the Dayan Pagoda are the originals, the forerunners, the cornerstones of ancient Chinese architecture. And then there is the Terracotta Army. This is a vast area, not like in the photos you see on the internet. All the digging sites are divided into 3 gigantic halls, each with there own small museum sharing facts about the contents. The figures themselves are really well preserved. It's hard to believe that they're thousands of years old. The surroundings could do with less shops all selling the same little figurines, but all-in-all, it's a worthwhile experience. #historicculture#summervacation

Xi'an, a passionate city.

Xi'an, a passionate city.

Xi'an Tang Daming Palace is a witness to the glorious history of the Tang Dynasty. It was built in the eighth year of the reign of Emperor Taizong of Tang, and was originally a summer palace built by Emperor Taizong for his father, Li Yuan. After large-scale construction by several emperors, including Emperor Gaozong of Tang, it became the most magnificent palace complex of the Tang Dynasty. It was once the political center of the Tang Dynasty, and countless decrees were issued from this magnificent palace, affecting the fate of the entire country. It is grand in scale and magnificent in momentum, and its architectural art is unique, with flying eaves and bucket arches, showing the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty. Walking through it, you can almost see the grand scene of the Tang Dynasty, see the nobles shuttling through it, and feel the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty. It is the shining place of the splendid culture of the Chinese nation, and every inch of land is engraved with the imprint of history.

I finally experienced the true leisure of 'Yoyan sees Nanshan'

This is really a treasure of a guesthouse! I really like it! The newly opened guesthouse in Xi'an has a very unique small environment. The yard is large, the green plant area is also large, and there are small animals. There is a tea room. The touch of sunlight in the winter sun is extremely comfortable while making tea around the stove. It's really comfortable! The room is also large and clean, and the service attitude is also good, you can rush with your eyes closed! You can go and see the surrounding attractions of Taiping Temple!
