If you're not driving in Okinawa, I really recommend joining a day tour, so you can just focus on taking photos 😂. When I took the bus to the outlying islands later... ✏ To avoid getting up early, I chose the classic North Line tour that meets at 8:45. We didn't get back to the prefectural office until 19:00. ✨ Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium 2 hours 30 minutes The only paid attraction worth visiting. Follow Crayon Shin-chan to the aquarium. The highlights are the whale sharks and dolphin show, the rest can be skipped. Two and a half hours is enough for a rough visit. If you want to explore it thoroughly, I suggest spending a whole day there, as the round-trip bus ride is time-consuming. 🐋 ✨ Kouri Beach 20 minutes Check in at Kouri Bridge. The sea in Okinawa is really nice. #okinawatrip This is a must see garden in Naha! It has beautiful spots for photo opportunities! If you go, try to make it a little before the sun goes down so you can see it in the light as well as lit up once it gets dark. The price is very worth the visit- not expensive at all. They have bathrooms, plenty of spots to sit and rest, and drink/ice cream vending machines. If you want to feed the fish in the various ponds you can purchase food for 100Y. Biggest perk is it is dog friendly so bring your pup, but make sure they are on a leash and you bring bags to pick up after them if they go poo.

To understand a city, the simplest way is actually to visit the local food market. In Nago, I went to the Nago Fishing Port, and naturally, I did the same in Naha. Naha actually has two markets, one is the Naha Fishing Port, and the other is the First Makishi Public Market. ✅ Market Introduction: ⭕️ Naha Tomari Port is right by the dock, not as nice as Makishi Public, more like a local food market for residents. ⭕️ Makishi Public is right next to Kokusai Dori, overall much cleaner and tidier, more like a large fresh supermarket. ⭕️ In terms of price, the two markets are not much different, but Makishi Public has a wider variety and larger scale than Tomari Port. ⭕️ Both markets have seafood stalls that offer processing services, and the stalls have Chinese-speaking staff, so no worries about language barriers. ⭕️ For processing, whether it's sashimi or Chinese-style stir-fry, everything can be arranged, giving a feeling like you haven't traveled far. ⭕️ During the trip, the exchange rate fluctuated quite a bit, we didn't exchange too much Japanese yen, conveniently credit cards, WeChat, and Alipay were all accepted. ✅ Special Recommendations: ⭕️ In Japan, noctiluca and giant clams are edible, and in the market, you can also see porcupine fish and coconut crabs, like visiting an aquarium. ⭕️ At Tomari Port, we tried noctiluca, which are really big, half sashimi and half stir-fried with green onions, really delicious no matter how it's cooked. ⭕️ At Makishi office, we ordered a lobster, a geoduck, and a scallop for a total of 15,900 yen, about 750 RMB, which would cost at least double in China. ⭕️ The lobster was half raw and half boiled in soup, geoduck sashimi, and scallops with garlic, all extremely delicious because they were fresh. ⭕️ It is said that in China, giant clams that have been sitting in tanks have a special stench, so in the end, we didn't try them, but those interested might want to give it a shot.
