We stayed in a luxury cottage, dog friendly, for four nights in June. Our accommodation was spotless and exactly what we wanted. We had 2 bedrooms, with lovely fresh bedding. The kitchen had a washing machine and dishwasher and the lounge had comfy seating and a table and chairs. If you are looking for an all singing and dancing holiday, don't come here. If you want peace and quiet with a gorgeous beach 2 minutes walk away, then this is perfect. The only criticism is that, at the time of writing, the park has no wi fi.

Nice location, quiet and tidy. Had good use of the pool and couldn’t fault they did check on hot tub twice a day. Accommodation needs serious update, furniture is very tired and bathrooms needs renovating. This was not my idea of luxury. One bathroom between a family of four (2 teens) and wasn’t overly clean. Could be a lot better if invested money into some redecorating. Oven and dishwasher was clean so was able to eat in. Should show layout of rooms on booking page as wasn’t clear only one bathroom, probably would have more room in caravan. Could also do with some sun loungers on the terrace. The bed was very uncomfortable and so was the sofa. Very disappointed and won’t return again. Mislead by the word luxury cottage and the photos are obviously from years ago when first built!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Bay Colwell and would happily return. The accommodation was spacious and ideal for our family, the beach location was perfect, and our children loved the pool. It may be small and basic, but it was more than enough to keep them entertained. The only downside was the cleanliness of the floors. Our socks were constantly black, and with a toddler this wasn't ideal. We even bought floor wipes and cleaned the floors ourselves, but every wipe came up black and we eventually ran out. We also ended up throwing away several pairs of socks because they were so dirty. The bathroom was a little tired but perfectly functional. There was no Wi-Fi, but we were aware of this before we arrived, so it wasn't a surprise. A small on-site shop selling essentials like milk and bread would also be a great addition. Overall, it's a lovely place to stay, and with a little more attention to the cleanliness of the accommodation, it would be even better.

Recently had a short break here and stayed in a luxury 2 bed cottage. Was it luxury? We didn’t think so, but saying that, it was nice, and clean. Limescale in bathroom, and bit of updating needed, and a dodgy bedroom blind, but they fixed that the same day. Sofas getting old, but overall, a lovely clean cottage. Had the pool to ourselves each time we went in, was lovely, but personally, I’d prefer a handrail getting in, due to mobility issues. Pool and reception closed around 5, which took away that end of day swim that a lot of people enjoy. Small coffee shop in reception area, I believe sold Costa, but I believe, food wise, there was only crisps, and a freezer with ice creams. The park is tightly packed, and the drives are very tight and one car only. Shrubbery around our garden and tightness, caused damage to some clothing, when trying to get into our car! Nearest supermarket is about a five minute drive away. On our second day, we walked through the park to the beach and found a few restaurants. The Captains cabin is open during the day, and behind it is the Longbeach bar. Food great in both places and staff lovely and friendly. Great views too. It’s a quiet park, which is why we picked it, but it is quite a drive from everything, so not sure if will return to that area. The staff were all great and very friendly and helpful.

Problems - TV small, old and when turned on picture was terrible with lines. Door to Bathroom and one bedroom had dropped and were difficult and noisy to close. Up side was they did correct the following day. Biggest problem was no Wi Fi, it was only available in guest services but running at only 20mb it was so slow, virtually useless. Also at the same time the EE and O2 Mast had been down for 2 weeks so 4g and 5g not available either. Cottages were packed in like sardines with only one parking spot each, not much good if 6 people in two cars. They did let us park the second car at guest services but you really want your car close by. Parking spots were very tight in many cases making parking difficult in places. Sofas had seen better days and very uncomfortable. Quite sparse overall in terms of Kitchen utensils but did have all the appliances. Not much to say on the good side. Indoor pool was quite nice and site very close to Colwell beach but the pool and guest services closed at 5pm so if you come back from a long day and fancy a swim after 5 then tough luck. the cottages do have a hot tub out back. For the price the overall offer is pretty poor overall, wont stay here again.

Tucked away in a suburban area, this resort is surprisingly quiet. This review is of an Exclusive Beach lodge, as not many reviews are available of this type of accommodation online. Each of the 3 lodges is furnished slightly differently, ours (no. 2) had an outdoor table, and an expansive balcony where our dog enjoyed sunny spots. There is a partial seaview, and the surrounding trees and birdsong make it feel private and serene, even secluded if you ignore the fact that all three lodges are essentially beside each other (we didn't have any neighbours during our 3 night stay). Indoors, I'd describe the furnishings as spartan or minimal but all serve it's purpose: we enjoyed keeping the sliding door open as we had sunny days the entire time, a log burner is a nice touch on colder days (bring your own kindling). The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, and full size fridge/freezer, as well as cutlery for 4-6. We couldn't get the oven to work, we didn't use the stove. There are two bedrooms, both with an ensuite. Cleaning wasn't very thorough, but considering everyone spends some time at the beach there is a dustpan and brush to sweep any dust, sand, etc. (we always bring extra kitchen roll, disposable wipes, and kitchen/bathroom spray when self-catering). The bathrooms could use a more thorough clean, too - I found a dead spider in one shower. Dedicated parking is just outside the lodges, and adjacent to the Welcome centre / check-in (spaces aren't too tight, contrary to other reviews). The resort itself caters to families with small children, and these particular lodges are conveniently close to the Indoor soft play and pool, neither of which we used but were frequented by the many families onsite. We did appreciate the Costa coffee location, inside the welcome area. Private beach access to Colwell Bay is a big plus, especially if staying at the other lodges but the Beach lodges are both newer and more secluded, with perhaps better views.

Stayed here whilst visiting family. Lovely location close to the beach. Accommodation was a nice size and has everything needed for a few days stay. Two good size bedrooms but basic furniture and i was pleased that I took my own pillow. Shower not the cleanest, limescale issues. Parking was very tight but manageable and sitting outside in the morning sun to have coffee was lovely. Didn’t use the swimming pool but definitely a bonus if you have children.

We had a fantastic 4 days at The Bay Colwell had a lovely bungalow with a hot tub well kept site and nice indoor pool very quiet pleasant walks and close to beach

Rooms were spotless and in really good condition. Had everything you needed with a nice outdoor slace. Wasnt a surprise as we had already read that there is zero internet. But this is a real shame in this day and age. Not sure how practical it would be, but would have been nice to purchase basic items like bread and milk. No a show stopper as there is a Tesco only 5min drive. Overall would definitely recommend it.
