I had a pleasant stay with my family and it's located right at front of the beach, a perfect spot to stay and enjoy the sea view. The rooms are not centralised air conditioned, but they provide a portable fan and you can leave your windows open which allows plenty of air to manage this summer😁

Bathroom and toilet drain was leaking.

As members of a 37-strong Great Rail Journeys Group my wife and myself are nearing the end of a most enjoyable 5 night stay at the Trouville Hotel at Sandown overlooking the gentle sloping Blue Flag Sandown Beach which stretches some 4-5 miles. The property itself was owned by the Moorman Family for 45 years before being sold to the Thailand-based company Compass Hospitality (who, in addition to their ASEAN (Malaysia, Sri Lanka & Thailand) properties now own 30 Hotels in England, Scotland & Wales. This is most reassuring as a number of other Sandown Hotels (notably the adjacent Ocean Hotel - once one of the Island’s leading properties) are in a state of total disrepair! It is certainly very much geared up for looking after Groups (there were two other similar sized ones staying at the same time as us). Our visit started with a most helpful briefing session over coffee/tea whilst the luggage was deposited in our respective rooms. Meals (generous Breakfasts and consistently good Dinners served with generous range of fresh vegetables) were served by Marek and his team with military precision. Dinner was also followed on most nights by live entertainment which was certainly appreciated by a good number of guests. As for the rooms, we had a nice sea-facing double which was fine although a block out curtain would have been a most welcome addition! As would have been a standalone shower (my personal preference) but there was certainly no lack of hot water. Similarly, we had no problems with the Hotel’s Internet which was completely reliable throughout our stay. Sandown is also a good location for seeing the rest of the Island’s Attractions (notably Osborne House and I much the readily available coastal walks. All in all, it has been a most enjoyable stay and - as such - I’m confident that the good working relationship with Great Rail Journeys will remain in place for years to come!

We are staying here with Dave New tours coach trip from Cumbria UK. The twin room has a beautiful seaview with a large window with two smaller opening windows. The room is basic but comfortable and clean. The bathroom has a shower over a bath so you can have a nice hot bath, if needed. We are on the first floor so we take the stairs. But only one lift to the other floors, four in total, can become busy, as it only takes four people. Being on an older generation trip, this is quite frustrating,as the older people are waiting around for the lift to come back down. The staff on reception were very accommodating. The restaurant has set times for each group, and you need to be there within 10 or so mins of your allocated time. The restaurant staff are great especially the french guy. I think the menu could do with modernising IE the breakfast. Offering more selection of yogurt such as greek or plain. Seeds and nuts and fresh fruit such as raspberries and blueberries, melon,grapes. There should be warm milk on offer for cereal, as they cannot warm milk up, as they don't have a microwave. I did suggest warming it up in a pan, but that was ignored. The vegetarian choices for evening meals are ok. But fresh fruit should also be on offer,for a dessert. All in all a good experience. Very convenient for the beach and a good basic hotel

Very clean in room.no name badges on serving staff.the lounge could do with furniture recovering as very worn asked about breakfast was told to read menu location spot on sea front right near pier can't comment on entertainment but other guests saying it's fair no bingo though also wine was not the,% it said on wine list a lot less When told they said they would change the list ! . Meals were good sometimes not hot enough but edible .over all I enjoyed the holiday Isle of Wight is beautiful

Absolutely wonderful hotel. We were on an organised coach tour from the Northwest to the Isle of Wight. Stayed in the Trouville hotel for 5 nights. Food is served on time and the menu is amazing. There is something for everyone. Breakfast is unlimited and so much to choose from. The staff are all brilliant, Marek our waiter was incredible and couldn’t do enough to help. He even remembers that my fried egg is well done and not runny. The bar staff work so hard that you barely to be served. Entertainment is adequate and the drinks are good. The room is perfectly clean and comfortable with a great sea view. We are right on the beach and I was out swimming at 6:30 am each morning. Reception staff helped me to print out some important documents that had to be signed whilst I was away and were so helpful and friendly. Weather was amazing and this only helped to make things perfect All in all I would revisit and my advice is to try it too. Very satisfied.

Visited in a heatwave so was very glad of a fan in the room. Mine was a single at the back of the hotel and I was woken early by the kitchen extractor fans. I asked if there was a quieter room available and the manager kindly gave me a family room with partial sea view at no extra cost. It was lovel . Special mention to waiter Marek who was efficient and friendly, no matter how busy!
